Coming to a decision

The couple finally turned back toward her, their expressions softened but serious. They had wrestled silently with the decision, and the weight of it was written clearly on their faces. After much thought, they nodded at one another in quiet agreement. The father spoke, his voice calm but resolute: “We agree with your plan.” For a second, Elizabeth could hardly believe what she had heard. She waited, almost frozen in disbelief.
