Warm embrace
Unable to contain herself, Elizabeth stood and embraced the adoptive parents tightly. Tears threatened to spill, and words seemed impossible to form. Gratitude filled her chest until it was almost too much to bear. When she finally pulled back, she gathered herself, aware there was still much to work out. There would be discussions and details to handle, but beneath it all, the happiness she felt lingered, glowing inside her heart.
