Elizabeth tried to remain calm, but as she dialed her mother’s number, she noticed her hands were trembling. “Mom, I need to go to the hospital. Can I drop off the triplets at your place?” she said, trying to keep her voice steady. She didn’t want her mom to worry as well. Her mother was confused by the unexpected request, but luckily for Elizabeth, she had no problems with babysitting for a while.
