Exhausted, Kate finally slumped into her favorite chair. Adrenaline buzzed through her veins, making sleep impossible. She decided the only option was to wait.
If Sadie returned, this room would be her first stop. Kate’s eyes burned with fatigue, but she fought to stay awake, determined to catch the pup in the act. Eventually, though, tiredness crept in and won.
