This is Barbara
The woman introduced herself as Barbara, her voice carrying the calmness of someone used to living around animals. She appeared to be in her early sixties, but her energy felt much younger. Kate immediately noticed her gentle hands as she stroked Sadie’s head, earning a wagging tail in return. The pups swarmed her, climbing over her lap, but Barbara only laughed, hugging them as if they were already hers.
