The dog eagerly devoured the food, wagging its tail, which pleased Kate. “I’m glad you like it,” Kate said with a warm grin. But while the dog nourished itself, Kate’s eyes were also drawn back to the stuffed animal. It was old and worn, with patches of fabric missing. Made sense since a dog owned it. Yet still, there was something about it that Kate couldn’t quite shake. “I know this bear.”
