Kate adjusted her grip on the makeshift leash as the dog led her further along these unfamiliar streets. The sun was high, casting a warm glow over the scene. It was pleasant, but there was no time to enjoy the weather because the dog kept moving with a purpose. It pulled gently, sparking both curiosity and unease inside Kate’s mind. She glanced around at the changing surroundings, noting the slightly worn appearance of the buildings.
