A woodland cabin
About halfway through the wooded trail, the dog veered off the path and headed toward a clearing. Kate followed hesitantly, pushing through low-hanging branches. The clearing opened up to reveal a small, worn-down cabin. Its wooden exterior was weathered and covered in moss. Kate’s brow grew more frightened instantly. She hadn’t expected this. “What is this place?” she wondered aloud. But the boxer stepped up to the cabin’s front door and sat down, wagging his tail.
