Something inside Beth shifted that day. She didn’t quite understand why, but she felt responsible for helping Tom find his footing again.
Maybe it was compassion, or closure, or a little bit of both. Whatever it was, she couldn’t ignore it. And as strange as it was, taking care of him just felt right.
