The room’s atmosphere shifted as the vet leaned in closer to inspect one of the puppies. Using a magnifying glass, he studied its paw so intently it made Matthew uncomfortable. “This isn’t normal,” the vet muttered. Matthew wanted answers, but the vet’s cryptic behavior was only making the tension in the room worse.
