The assistant grabbed something from the desk and exited without noticing him, leaving the door ajar once more. Matthew exhaled in relief and quickly stepped into the room. He scanned his surroundings, searching for anything that might lead him to the puppies. His eyes landed on a clipboard with a list of animal descriptions. Among the entries, he spotted one that matched the puppies. They had been moved to another room.
