His Sister’s Help
Derek’s hand trembled as he reached into his pocket, fumbling for his cellphone. The man in the suit tightened his grip on Derek’s arm, but made no move to stop him. With shaky fingers, Derek dialed his sister’s number, praying she would pick up. “Madeleine,” he whispered urgently when she answered, his voice barely audible over the commotion around him. “Something’s happened. I need you to come get me.”
