The pilot planned to use these life rafts and lead his passengers and crew to the nearest island on their map. They hoped to make it through the storm since it made the sea rough terrain.
The brave man spoke the coordinates of their destination at the end of the recording and left the tape recorder sealed on his plane, hoping that someone might find it and rescue them.
