Adapting quickly

Life in the small town was new and, at times, frightening for the group, but the fact that they were allowed to remain together gave everything a sense of comfort and familiarity. With steady guidance from their pilot and longtime leader, most quickly began to adjust, finding direction in their new surroundings. Many secured jobs in agriculture or construction, fields that felt closest to the skills and routines they had relied on for survival.
