Glad not to be alone

For the first time since discovering the tracker, Jack felt a flicker of relief. At least he wasn’t facing this mystery alone. Still, unease lingered. The sterile glow of the store lights did little to calm his nerves, and every sound outside made him glance toward the door. When the casing finally came loose, revealing wires and circuits inside, Jack leaned in eagerly. Answers were finally within reach—but so were more dangerous questions.
