Following a Lead

The investigator slid a card across the table. It bore the name of a shady pawn shop tied loosely to the office building. “They might’ve sold the tracker,” he explained, lowering his voice. Jack’s fingers closed around the card, hesitation in his eyes. If this shop was involved, confronting them might be dangerous. But Jack knew one thing: he couldn’t keep living in fear. Answers mattered more than comfort, and he was ready to risk it.
