Sliding beneath the blankets, Jason shivered. The cabin felt colder, the air heavy with something unseen. He wrapped an arm around Emily, seeking warmth.
His thoughts swirled, rational explanations competing with rising dread. Every creak of timber, every sigh of wind, made his heart jump. It took nearly an hour before exhaustion dragged him back into uneasy sleep.
