They walked in silence, listening to the soft sounds of the forest. Birds chirped in the distance, as the faint trickle of running water grew louder.
“We must be close,” Emily said. The anticipation made her stomach twist. Jason kept a steady pace, his eyes scanning for anything unusual. “Just stay alert,” he warned.
