Maybe they’re sleeping

Half of the morning passed as he kept an eye on the nest from below. Yet, despite the time that went by, there was still no movement—no buzzing, no sign of hornets flying in or out. “Maybe they’re just sleeping,” he muttered to himself, though he knew that hornets were usually quite active during the day. The unusual inactivity made him question what exactly he was really dealing with here.
