Fur and fibres

Hornets didn’t collect fur—at least, not as far as he knew. He glanced at Mark, hoping for an explanation. Mark studied the fibers more closely before giving a small nod. “No,” he confirmed, “hornets don’t collect fur.” He brushed a hand over the material. “And these fibers… they look almost like plant roots. Strange.” The odd combination made no logical sense, leaving both men baffled as their unease steadily grew.
