Once inside, the team wheeled in a large steel transport cage. The bear, fully sedated, was maneuvered inside with precision. The metal door clanged shut, locking securely. “That went smoother than expected,” one officer muttered, wiping his brow. His partner allowed a brief chuckle. “Could’ve been worse—it didn’t charge.” For John, even watching through the car window, the sight of the unconscious bear finally contained brought a shaky relief.
