John’s heart started pounding faster as he carefully climbed closer. Normally, he was a fearless man who never hesitated when facing a problem. But at that moment, he had to admit that his nerves were getting the better of him. The sheer size of the thing made him feel uneasy. It was unlike him to hesitate, yet here he was, frozen halfway up the ladder, second-guessing his every movement.
