The town’s river
As they stood below the caved-in section, they noticed water dripping steadily from the ceiling. It wasn’t pouring, but drops were falling fast enough to form shallow pools around their boots. “Aren’t the outer banks of the river just south of your property?” Tom asked nervously, watching the ceiling. Charles nodded slowly, looking up at the water. If the tunnel extended too far in that direction, it could end in disaster. The risk was growing.
