Marco’s lamp tilted down, and he froze again. The dust on the ground carried a record of movement: two sets of tracks stretched side by side.
One print was wide and heavy, boot-shaped. The other was smaller, lighter. Whoever had walked here hadn’t been alone. His mother may have had someone with her.
