They sat there for a while, the only sounds being the crackle of the fire and the wind brushing past the trees. Lucas stared at the man, still trying to process what had just happened. A part of him had come out here looking for answers. He never expected to find someone else still holding on. Lucas knew this wasn’t over. He had questions—hundreds of them.
