An exit plan
After finishing his food, Tom leaned back against the snowbank. “Thank you,” he said, barely louder than a whisper. Lucas offered a reassuring smile. “You’re not staying here another night, that’s for sure.” With a renewed sense of purpose, the two began planning. Lucas would lead the way back to the motel. From there, they’d call for help and start Tom’s return to the world.
