Moving through time

The photos gradually shifted in tone. Sepia gave way to more vibrant, color-tinted snapshots from later years. Familiarity grew. Emma saw her parents smiling together, birthdays celebrated, holidays remembered. Then, finally, her own face appeared—her younger self, barely more than a child. Her hands trembled slightly as she turned another page. A photograph slipped loose unexpectedly, fluttering down onto her lap. Emma picked it up slowly, staring at the image of herself at five years old.
