The screen blinked to life, revealing the details she sought. An address appeared clearly: “19 Millroad Creek, Fairfield, Ohio.” Emma whispered the words under her breath, committing them carefully to memory. She repeated them once, then again, letting the syllables settle. The location wasn’t in some far-flung state or unreachable distance—it was only a few towns away. So close, in fact, that she wondered how she could have gone so long without knowing.
