Acceptance

Emma’s lips curved slowly into a smile, faint but genuine. Hearing Edgar call Rose “our Grandma” felt like something important clicking into place. For the first time, she realized that Rose had truly belonged to both of them, no matter the secrecy. Emma’s chest warmed with unexpected compassion. Instead of anger for the hidden truth, she felt relief. It was as though something long fractured in her heart had finally healed.
