Going trough the motions

She carried on through the rest of her shift in a daze, going through motions on autopilot. She smiled when necessary, answered when spoken to, but her mind was elsewhere entirely. The numbers kept cycling in her head, pulling at her attention. Emma felt certain she had seen them before. They were connected to someone or something, though her mind kept slipping when she tried to place it. Whatever the source, it felt undeniably important.
