Remembering the route
As the boat pulled away from the dock, the mood aboard was focused but hopeful. Jake sat near the front, eyes narrowed, trying to picture yesterday’s route. “We passed a massive stone statue,” he said. “Looked like a warrior or a deity holding a spear. We turned right after that. And there was a coral reef that jutted out of the water—pinkish and sharp.”
