The lodge was packed now. Staff cleaned boats, tourists prepped gear, voices echoed in every direction. A complete contrast to the nearly empty dock they’d seen just yesterday. Jake asked for Captain Win at the desk. But the woman frowned. “Captain who?” she asked. Emily stepped in. “Win. Middle-aged. Short. Smiles a lot. He took us out yesterday morning.”
