Splitting up
The boat slowed near shore. Just like before, they hopped into the shallow water, splashing forward with their bags until their feet sank into the sand.
The captain stayed behind with the vessel, ensuring it didn’t drift away. That left the four of them moving onto the beach, tension thick in every step.
