Not sticking around
Elliot stepped out of the boat with shaky legs, nearly tipping over as the dock wobbled beneath him. He caught himself just in time, grabbed a railing, and exhaled.
“Thanks for the ride,” he said, while turning around to face June. But she was already gone. The boat spun mid-water, engine humming. Within seconds, she vanished back into the fog, leaving him completely alone at the dock.
