It was a Saturday, so the rest of the notary firm’s staff wasn’t present at the office. So when Eliot rang the bell, the family notary himself opened up and invited him in.
“Welcome, Eliot. I’m guessing you’re quite confused. I understand. And I wouldn’t have let you come over here on a weekend day if this inheritance wasn’t anything special, but it is,” the notary stated.
