Reaching the office
Ben clutched the object close as he made his way through the darkened sanctuary paths. The staff building loomed ahead, its windows faintly glowing. The whole time, his mind raced. Had he just violated Mara’s trust? Or saved her from whatever spell she was under? His fingers tightened around the shape in his arms. It was heavier than expected. Oddly shaped. And strangely warm.
