He stepped through the staff entrance quietly, careful not to wake the other animals housed nearby. When he reached the office hallway, the door to the observation room was already open. Warm lamplight spilled into the corridor. Rosa stood inside, pacing nervously. She turned the moment he stepped in, her eyes going wide with relief. “Did you get it?” she asked, breath catching.
