Natural light barely penetrated the cavernous room, leaving most of the Main Dining Hall shrouded. Morgan wasted no time speculating. He drew in a deep breath, steadied himself, and advanced toward the barricade. The furniture loomed tall, wedged tightly together. Squaring his shoulders, Morgan pushed against it. Sweat quickly beaded his forehead as he forced one couch aside with effort. The scrape echoed loudly, stirring dust into the still air around him.
