Morgan straightened, waving his men inward. “We’re inside,” he confirmed, flicking on his flashlight. The beam cut through stale darkness, dust motes swirling. Glass fragments glittered faintly beneath the light. The dining hall stretched vast before them, its scale hidden until now. Furniture lay toppled across the expanse, tables overturned, chairs snapped. It looked like chaos had erupted suddenly, leaving everything broken, yet frozen in place. The silence pressed heavier within the cavernous hall.
