Leading the way

With little choice, the three marines fell in step behind Andrew, their movements cautious but steady. He led them through a service corridor barely lit by thin strips of emergency light. The flickering glow painted shadows that danced across the walls, every step echoing far too loudly. Despite his ragged appearance, Andrew moved with practiced awareness, sidestepping hazards and ducking low beams, as if every corner of this dying ship had been memorized in his mind.
