Simple assignment

“We were given a simple assignment,” Andrew said firmly, his tone strangely detached, as if rehearsed through years of repetition. “Every cruise ship in the fleet requires regular sea miles, even when tourists aren’t available. Empty runs keep the systems alive, preventing catastrophic failure.” He shook his head slowly. “Cold, untouched ships are dangerous. Engines stall, turbines decay. Idle steel turns into a coffin at sea.” His eyes flickered. “And that’s what happened.”
