The patrol circled the vessel twice for assessment. The expansive deck was empty as far as binoculars could confirm. Windows appeared either shattered or so heavily coated with grime and salt that nothing inside was visible. No activity stirred anywhere—not even gulls dared to perch on the railings. Morgan raised a hand, signaling silence. The team idled, listening carefully, their engines reduced to a quiet hum beneath the wind and surf.
