Found a Way
The hatch was old but not rusted. Its handle stuck, but with both pulling, it finally creaked open. A narrow staircase spiraled downward into a dark space below. “Not exactly a welcome mat,” Mason muttered. Dylan pulled his phone out of the waterproof seal on his wetsuit and put on the flashlight. “Guess this is it.” They stepped inside slowly, ducking as they went downward.
