From behind the turbines, a figure slowly emerged—hands raised, face pale but calm. Dylan and Mason froze. “Don’t be afraid,” the man said. He stepped into the red light, revealing a tired, weathered face beneath a graying beard. “I’m Captain Ross. Of this ship.” Mason lowered his flashlight, stunned. “You’ve been down here this whole time?” Ross nodded. “Not just me. Follow me. I’ll show you.”
