That afternoon, under gray but calm skies, the first crew members slid into the ocean beside Dylan and Mason. The strongest swam with purpose. The weaker ones clung tightly to surfboards, guided with care by their rescuers. One by one, they reached the beach—barefoot, breathless, overwhelmed. Dylan turned to see Captain Ross chest-deep in water, arms spread wide. “We made it,” he whispered.
