Driving home

On the way back, silence filled Luke’s car. The decoded words echoed louder than conversation. His knuckles whitened around the steering wheel. Finally, he admitted, “I feel like I’m about to disturb something sacred.”
The thought made his chest ache. Keller glanced toward him. “Or maybe you’re completing a story your grandfather couldn’t finish.” The words sat heavy, unsettling.
