Doubting his childhood
Andrew remembered a kid in his class laughing when the teacher mentioned sitting down for reindeer. “That’s dumb. They’ll just stomp you.” The memory flashed through his mind now. He almost laughed at himself for listening to this unproven advice from when he was a child. But he also felt a strange peace in doing the one thing he could—which was doing absolutely nothing.
