A Moment Alone

Andrew glanced around the empty street. Nobody was there—no neighbors, no passing cars. He almost wished someone else could see this, to confirm he wasn’t imagining it. But maybe it was better this way. A crowd might frighten the animal. Cameras could break the spell. This fragile moment belonged only to them. Just a man and a reindeer, standing in stillness, bound by something Andrew couldn’t name. But it wouldn’t last.
