Seeing it in person
Reindeer weren’t unheard of here, though most people only saw them from afar. Locals sometimes snapped photos when one appeared in a clearing or grazing in a meadow. But they almost always kept deep in the woods, far from neighborhoods. Andrew himself had only seen them in pictures, never in the flesh. So when a huge male suddenly stepped out of the trees and blocked the road, Andrew froze in disbelief.
