A lesson from school always stuck with Andrew. He didn’t remember much about sixth-grade nature week, but he did remember one thing clearly: never run from a reindeer. “Sit down. Make yourself small. Stay still,” the teacher had said. It showed respect. It told the animal you weren’t a threat. Andrew had no clue if it worked—but he didn’t have a better option.
